The Asian Football Confederation has moved the 2027 Asian Cup from the seventh of January to the fifth of February next year, to the period from the twenty-third of December 2027 to the twenty-first of January 2028. FIFA still has to approve the new dates. For United, that removes an immediate clash between the tournament and the club’s January domestic programme.

On international duty, Michael Forbes is in Northern Ireland’s twenty-five-man squad for Nations League matches at home to Ukraine on the fourteenth of November and away to Hungary three days later. Northern Ireland lead Group B2 by one point with two games left. 964 Media reports that Zidane Iqbal is also in Iraq’s twenty-nine-player squad for the Basra International four-nation tournament.

In the Women’s game, United host Gartcairn at Foundation Park tonight. Kick-off is at half past seven. United are seventh in SWPL 2 with nine points from eight matches, while Gartcairn are fifth with thirteen points from eight.

Loan Watch. Match updates on X report that Scott Constable and Charlie Dewar both started as Arbroath beat Queen of the South one-nil, while Owen Stirton started for Ayr United and set up Jamie Douglas in a two-nil win at Annan. Both clubs reached the last sixteen of the KDM Evolution Trophy.
