Jim Goodwin says Dundee United would explore a permanent move for Lyall Cameron if the opportunity arose. The midfielder joined from Rangers on a season-long loan in September and has quickly become an important player in Goodwin's team. Goodwin says Cameron is enjoying life at Tannadice and believes the club have put themselves in a good position. But he accepts Rangers control the next step and that better-funded clubs would compete if Cameron became available. The manager says it is far too early for a decision, so the immediate priority is to keep getting the best from him through the rest of the loan.

Tomorrow's Motherwell match is the immediate test. United are sixth with sixteen points from eleven league games, one behind Dundee and two behind Falkirk. Motherwell are ninth on twelve points from twelve. Victory would take United above Falkirk before Falkirk visit Hearts on Sunday. United are unbeaten in six league matches since Motherwell won the first meeting three-nil at Fir Park in September. The visitors arrive after ending a seven-game wait for a win against St Mirren. Their official report says Lukas Fadinger's eighty-second-minute penalty secured the one-nil victory, after Motherwell had created several earlier chances.

Referee Observer lists Ryan Lee as the referee for tomorrow's match. Ross Macleod and Ross Nelson are the assistants, Ross Birrell is fourth official, and Andrew Dallas is on VAR.

In the Women's game, United lost five-two at home to Gartcairn on Wednesday night. The result leaves United seventh in SWPL 2 with nine points from nine matches. They are next away to Queen's Park on Sunday at noon.
