In the men’s game, Saturday’s Melbourne Derby brings together two sides still looking for their first league points of the season. Victory lost two-one in Wellington, while City were beaten three-one at Auckland. Victory won the last two derbies of last season. Matthew Grimaldi settled the Christmas meeting with a late goal, before Victory won three-one in February, with two goals from Juan Mata, one from forty yards. City did win the first derby of the season, two-nil in November.

If you’re heading to AAMI Park on Saturday, gates open at six o’clock. The club is giving out free Mata posters on the outer concourse, along with free flags.

In the Women’s game, Victory are third after the opening round and face eighth-placed Wellington Phoenix on Sunday morning. Victory haven’t beaten the Phoenix in their last three meetings.

On international duty, Leyla Hussein and Sienna Calvanese are in the squad as the Junior Matildas face Spain at two o’clock on Friday morning, Melbourne time. Spain beat Mexico two-nil in their opener and are two-time champions of this tournament.
