Victory face Persib Bandung in Indonesia tonight with first place in AFC Champions League Two Group E at stake. Kick-off is at quarter past eleven, Melbourne time, at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium. Persib have six points from two wins. Victory are two points behind after drawing at The Cong-Viettel and beating FC Seoul.
Victory have travelled without captain Jason Davidson, Guillermo May, Louis D’Arrigo and Joshua Inserra. Davidson, May and D’Arrigo stayed in Victoria before Sunday’s league match against Central Coast Mariners. Inserra was hospitalised after being forced off in the derby. The club says observations are continuing and no return-to-play date has been set. Vice-captains Tom Lockyer and Philipp Ziereis are both in the twenty-one-player squad.
For Persib, captain Marc Klok is suspended after his dismissal against The Cong-Viettel. Head coach Igor Tolic has won both of his AFC Champions League Two matches since replacing Bojan Hodak. That gives Victory a difficult test against the group’s only perfect side, even with Persib’s captain missing.
In the development pathway, the proposed timeline for Victory’s Arden Campus is now clearer. The Arden Central masterplan schedules construction of the community field and club facilities to begin in twenty twenty-eight, with completion forecast for twenty thirty-two. The timeline is indicative and remains subject to change. The campus is designed around the Women’s program, youth female pathways and community football.
