Dundee United drew one-all with Motherwell at Tannadice after an open match that produced forty-one attempts at goal. Lukas Fadinger put the visitors ahead from a penalty after VAR overturned an offside flag and sent referee Ryan Lee to the monitor. Jesse Randall levelled before half-time with an inventive back-heel after a low ball reached him inside the six-yard area.
Jack Walton made several important saves as Motherwell threatened on the break. At the other end, the visitors cleared one effort off the line before Joshua Rawlins missed an unmarked chance at the back post late on. The Courier reports that Jim Goodwin felt United had done enough to win but accepted the draw was fair, and that he regarded the penalty decision as poor. The point extends United's unbeaten league run to seven matches.
United are sixth with seventeen points from twelve games. They are level with Dundee and St Johnstone, sitting behind Dundee and ahead of St Johnstone on goal difference. The international break now follows before a trip to Hibernian. United's next opponents moved up to tenth with a four-nil win at Aberdeen on Saturday.
On international duty, Kevin Ciubotaru has not been named in Romania's final twenty-six-player squad for Nations League matches against Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In the Women's game, United visit Queen's Park at noon today in SWPL 2. United begin the day seventh with nine points, while Queen's Park are third on eighteen. The match is at Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex.
